C. Short Story

The Sign

Iam on the bus waiting for my two friends named Sabrina and Thea. I look at Sabrina and Thea wondering how we became friends. Maria Thea Gonzales is the most joyful person that I ever met. She loves everything that surrounds her. Sabrina Divinagracia is the top one in our class. She is a quite person but when we became friends she is the person that you can't expect on her behavior. I met them when I was in Grade 7, when I transferred at Malibu Collage. I thought I would not found friends like them. But surprisingly, the three of us become best of friends for almost 10 years. We are in our last year of college.

Then the bus stop and the driver beep his horn. The tour guide said that we are in the Malibu Lagoon beach camp in California. There is a mansion facing in the exquisite view of the island that is perfect aesthetic stretch beyond the beach. Hollywood stars and top athletes live in oceanfront homes here, under an elegant veil of privacy on long strands of beach, and enjoy front-row seats for surfing and unforgettable sunsets. In the afternoon we came in the destination and the care taker of the mansion instructs us the rules and regulation in the beach camp.

We went inside the mansion and go in the basement. We want to explore what the mansion has and look for something that is unusual. When we are in the basement we see a big painting covered with a white cloth in the center of the antique room. Then suddenly Thea holds the cloth planning to pull it.

"Thea, stop." Sabrina said.

Suddenly the curtain reflects a bright light; you can see in our eyes that we are amaze by the portrait. So I take off the cloth. There's a magical happen while we're looking at the painting, it slowly moves. We are so amaze on what we saw. After a few second we hear some footsteps coming from outside the room and suddenly the wind blows.

"Omggghadddd it's a ghost!" Thea said with scary voice.

"No its not, it is the care taker" I said.

But before I can say that Thea accidentally push Sabrina into the painting.

"Omahghadd, what happen?" Thea said with crumbling voice. She hold my hand and touch the painting.

We fall to an anonymous place. Were in the forest, the skies are color rainbow; the Pine trees are color blue and the grass are color grey. It is different from our world. While we are walking in the forest we see a guy and ask for help. A muscle guy holding a sword, and then we shock because may be he will kill us.

"Don't be afraid to me, this sword is just to protect myself to zombies." he said.

"Wait what?! You mean zombies as in zombies?" Thea ask.

"Yes, Are you new in this forest?" he asks

"We are new here in this place. Do you know this place? Can you help us?" Sabrina said.

"Yes I can help you." he answered.

A mansion is a very old house, there are spider web, rotten, many woods scattered, many cockroaches and rats, broken walls, broken windows, and scary surroundings.

"It is a creepy place." Thea said.

Thea is standing beside anonymous guy, suddenly we heard a sounds of people who are shouting. They bump her body to the door to get in. The sword that the guy is holding slip in the arm of Thea. She get a wound in her arm so the guy and I brought her in the basement to rinse the blood in her arm. While the guy rinse her arm, I'm just watching them to finish medicate the wounds of her.

"I will just get some herbal medicine upstairs." the guy said.

Unfortunately Thea and I are left in the basement.

"Kourt! My stomach hurts." Thea twisting her body with pain and start to vomit.

"What happen to you kourt?! Wh--at"

I'm so shock when Thea turn back to me and I saw her with black eyes, sharp teeth and very ugly face.

"Sabrinaaaaaaaaaaa!" I shouted from the basement.

Sabrina quickly go to us and saw the evil face of Thea. She was also shock and we run immediately going upstairs. Then we see him with his sword and stab Thea in the chest. I and Sabrina are really scared on what anonymous guy did to Thea so we immediately get out of the house and run faster as we can.

While we are running at the forest, it's very dark and there's no one outside. I see a vandal and get inside find something that can help us to get out of this place. We discover some experimental tools, injections, medicine, poisonous experiments and plants like Sargassum. It is purple that have many leafy appendages, branches, and round, large berry-like structures that make up the plant that has a poison inside of it. There is a water tank beside the vanual and I take a look and see some Sargassum that is surrounded in it. I see him coming near to us; I lock the entire door so that guy can't get in.

"Kourtney loo outside." Sabrina said while pointing outside.

We see some people outside coming near us. As they go nearer there are something wrong. They are not people but they are also zombies. The zombies winds around the van, they pull and push the van results to shake. They want to get in to kill us, I can see the hunger in their faces. We forget that there is also a window in the roof of the van. So she immediately holds the window to prevent the zombies to come in. But her hand didn't have enough power to hold still.

"I can't do it Kourtney." Sabrina said while crying.

Sabrina got eaten by zombies, they kill her. My tears in my eyes suddenly drops.

"I can't do this, I am the only one left in our three of us."

The zombies are getting inside the van and my hand is hurting to handle. I can't hold it anymore. The door open widely the guy is coming, the zombies is coming. I'm so scared, I can't handle this anymore.

"Waaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!" I wake up, it is just only dream.

A bad dream, I thank God it's just only a dream. Suddenly my phone ring. I see the picture of my two friends in my phone. Thea is in the line.

"Hello friend!" Thea and Sabrina say.

"Thea is our driver" Sabrina added. I hear the laughing of my two friend I really missed them so much.

"Girls, I had a bad dream. A really bad dream." I replied.

Eennnggggggg bbooooggggss

The call ended. I'm shock when I heard a loud crash.

"Hello, hello, hello!" I repeatedly said.

I was terrify and scared. I try to fix and calm myself. I dialed their phone, but no one is answering. I call for our driver to drive me into Thea's house. On our half way going to Thea's house I see tons of people winding around something.

"It is a track and car accident ma'am" making driver said

From the backseat, I saw familiar car. I was nervous and terrify

"Stop the car, stop!" 

I slowly step outside and I see the most tragic accident I could ever see. I saw my friends been that was stuck in the car. They were covered with blood. Not so far from the accident I see a familiar face.

I feel shiver when I see the guy. That was the guy, the guy in my dream.
